Campsites around Nimes

Roman heritage, pretty villages and gentle rolling countryside
Nimes Languedoc Roussillon
the Roman arena in Nimes
The campsites situated around the city of Nimes, fall into the area which is still considered to be Provence by its inhabitants, culturally, if not geographically. Nimes is marked out by its extraordinary Roman heritage and buildings, its architecture and its pentecost feria (festival) which should not be missed if at all possible. Around Nimes the territory is marked by pretty, well preserved villages, and gentle rolling countryside cultivated with vineyards and olive groves. It is half an hour to an hour to reach the beach from here, and easier to reach inland to the Cevennes mountains with its dramatic landscape, ideal for walking, cycling or canoeing. One can reach all the main sites of heritage such as Nimes and the Pont du Gard, Avignon, Aigues-Mortes and Montpellier by car.

To find a campsite near Nimes, please contact the Nimes tourist office, or the Gard Department tourism board.
