Fougères is a very historic town which was once a part of the fortified border between Brittany and France. The town is built on a hill, with an imposing castle and the medieval quarter at the bottom.
Evron is a very well-situated small town, near to Laval and Mayenne, centred around the well-known 10th basilica of Our Lady. The Thursday morning market is considered to be one of the best in the area, and the town is thriving, with small shops in the centre and larger stores on the industrial park.
