I don’t know whether or not this is new or just that I’ve not come across it before.

Tesco sell tyres – they have a deal with BlackCircles. You order on line and get fitted locally. All in price, no add ons etc.

And you get Tesco points -very useful for Eurotunnel travellers to France.

I’ve ordered two tyres and the Tesco/BlackCircles price totally blew away a quote from National Tyres by some £60.

    In France?

You’ll get those anyway if you pay by Tesco credit card. Point is (pun intended) what advantage is there?
Any discount on the standard Black Circle prices?

They have a Fench site http://www.Pneusenligne.net‏, I ordered 2 tyres earlier this month, took 3 days to arrive. Unlike the U.K they do not do a fitting service so took them along to a garage in St Jean D’Angely and was charged 20 euros to fit & balance. The price by the way was excellent, 90 euros cheper per tyre than anywhere I could find, have used them in the U.K as well and have always been pleased with the service

    Answering your points……

Not in France, locally in UK.

On certain brands you get 4 x Clubcard points.

Prices are the same as Black Circle

Think it may be wise to look at a few sites to compare prices, I looked at mytyres and they couldn’t match Blackcircles on the tyre I have just purchased

Have a look at tyreshopper as well, I have used both blackcircles and tyreshopper, it just depends on what make/ size/ price of tyre you want as they dont necessarily stock the same.

I much prefer blackcircles (local) tyre fitters to tyreshoppers (national chain) were I live.

I have found both camskill and mytyres more expensive for the tyres I need for my car.

    Cheers

A final observation – if you go down the Tesco tyre route check to make sure your Clubcard points are subsequently credited to you. The points on my purchase in August had not been (worth £16 to me on the Eurotunnel deal). All sorted this month.

Just a note on internet tyres. Firstly many fitters are getting fed up and now charge a lot extra for fitting, so get quotes first otherwise you may find yourself with tyres and nowhere to fit them.

Secondly tyres are stored in racks vertically in tyre fitting bays for a reason. i.e. the bead of the tyres are forced open.

Internet tyres are often stored in stacks and worse strapped for transport which can make them difficult sometimes almost impossible to bead. If you buy internet tyres make sure you get them unstrapped and vertical as quickly as possible.

    123pneus.com is worth a look.
