    8) I’m usually with OH 24/7 so with the cooler weather today, dog and OH went off to work together and I have the day to myself. So far been to an art exhibition http://www.france-forum-frenchentree.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=127507 after having the compulsory coffee at a cafe on the square in town and subsequently did the boring food shopping bit, washing etc. Will now drag the lawnmore about a bit, then going out again to hunt out another tourist attraction I’ve seen the road sign for . :P
    What’s everyone else up to?

    1. Took dogs for a walk
    2. Cleaned fields
    3. Stripped down oven to find fault in fan motor
    4. Cleaned hob
    5. Chased Asda to find out why they have not delivered order to ………..
    6. Chased Halifax to find out why they refused payment
    7. Took new kittens for a walk
    8. Began planning forceful letter to Asda boss
9.Cooked dinner in immaculate oven, complete with working fan
    10. And, like Bails, sweated a lot. Cooler? Huh!

We have started restoring properties again using builders. We had stopped about three years ago as the market had slowed down, but now aiming at the French market  cos they still have money. Today a room got plastered and an extention got a concrete floor ready to be tiled next week. I managed to drink three liters of water which is very unusual for me. Its really to hot to do building work but my boss is a -astard.

The same as many past years when working only now I don’t need to work, I’m retired, and so we went for a long walk along the coast instead. Four or five days a week we do work in and around the house improving it slowly and 2-3 days doing nothing but enjoying life etc. Apart from this last couple of weeks it’s been too hot for the physicals. The only problem in France seems to be that it takes 4 times as long as the UK to do essential admin and the other basics of living. Admittedly, in the UK the accountant did the tax and paye whereas here it can’t be justified and the gardener did the garden. All in all the days get filled up and pass quickly and relatively comfortably, it’s called living! As for the other person’s expression “same sh*t different country”, I don’t really think so, it depends what you had before and what you have or expect from life here.

    Got up and walked dog.
    Nurse visited.
    Read book.
    Had some lunch.
    Read book.
    Swam
    Finished book.
    Picked toms, courgettes, lettuce.
    Eat tea
    Now searching for new book….

PS It’s not normally like this….honestly!

Are you sure you are making cement or using cement to make mortar or concrete?
