Southern France Surveys

Southern France Surveys was founded in 2002 by John Marshall, a British Chartered Surveyor. In 2012, he was joined by Eric Merlier Judge MRICS as an Associate. Eric became the principal of Southern France Surveys in 2022. He is the only French RICS chartered surveyor doing pre-purchase building surveys in France. He is a Quantity Surveyor specialized in eco renovation and trained as a French real estate and construction legal specialist.

About Eric Merlier Judge

Eric brings over 25 years of expertise and experience within the French building industry to his clients in his role as a surveyor and valuer for Southern France Surveys. Having started his career in the financial sector he left the city behind to follow his passion for eco-construction, founding a company in Languedoc Roussillon and going on to specialise period building renovations. He later became an instructor for Batipole before branching out into a new career in quantity surveying, project management, building valuations and building surveying.

His first-hand experience in dealing with contractors, suppliers, and clients of different nationalities puts him in a unique position amongst RICS-regulated surveyors in France.
