In partnership with online rental specialist French Connections, we’re offering a lucky reader the chance to win a week for two in a self-catered holiday cottage in the green heart of the Dordogne Valley.
✱ Just 500m from the banks of the Dordogne River, in the grounds of a converted 18th-century farmstead in Creysse, as the name suggests the Bread Oven cottage was once used to bake owners’ daily pain.
✱ Although converted into a comfortable and contemporary gîte with all mod cons, the cottage has retained many of its original features, including the stone oven façade, which now acts as the centrepiece of the ground-floor lounge.
✱The circular kitchen – carved out of the bread oven itself – comes complete with a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. A wooden staircase traces the original path of the oven’s curved chimney to the first floor.
✱ Upstairs, you’ll find a master bedroom with oeil-de-boeuf window and wooden beams, a smaller bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom. There is satellite television and free Wifi.
✱ Outside, you’ll find a shared swimming pool and private gardens.
✱ The picturesque villages of Meyronne and Saint- Sozy with their amenities, restaurants and shops are less than 2km away.
✱Prize draw May 4, 2020. Available for a stay week commencing September 26 or October 3 for two people.
