French School Holidays – 2025/2026 Dates for Your Calendar

This French school calendar has all the key dates you need to know if you have children at school in France. In France, there are three zones that determine the school year. While school days and ‘la rentrée’ (the day on which school starts) are the same across the country, dates for school holidays vary according to the zone you live in.
The 2025 school year ended on July 5th, 2025, and La Rentrée is on September 1st, 2025.
We’ve listed below the 2025-2026 French school holiday dates for each of the regional education authorities (académies). For Corsica and overseas departments, the dates are different again – consult the official government page linked below.
Note: This calendar is based on the official version found here, but it is always a good idea to double-check local timetables.

All Saints (La Toussaint): October 18 to November 3, 2025
Christmas: December 20, 2025 to January 5, 2026
Winter: February 7, 2026 to February 23, 2026
Spring: April 4, 2026 to April 20, 2026
Summer: July 4, 2026
ZONE B: French School Holiday dates
Return to school: September 1st, 2025
All Saints (La Toussaint): October 18 to November 3, 2025
Christmas: December 20, 2025 to January 5, 2026
Winter: February 14, 2026 to March 2, 2026
Spring: April 11, 2026 to April 27, 2026
Summer: July 4, 2026
ZONE C: French School Holiday dates
Return to school: September 1st, 2025
All Saints (La Toussaint): October 18 to November 3, 2025
Christmas: December 20, 2025 to January 5, 2026
Winter: February 21, 2026 to March 9, 2026
Spring: April 18, 2026 to May 4, 2026
Summer: July 4, 2026
Different dates may apply to Corsica and overseas departments.
NB: Holidays start after classes on the date indicated and begin again in the morning on the other date indicated. When holidays begin on a Saturday, for those pupils who have no class that day, the holiday period begins on the previous Friday, after classes end.
