French School Holidays – 2022/2023 Dates for Your Calendar

This French school calendar has all the key dates you need to know if you have children at school in France. In France, there are three zones that determine the school year. While school days and ‘la rentrée’ (the day on which school starts) are the same across the country, dates for school holidays vary according to the zone you live in.
The 2022 school ends on July 7th, 2022 and La rentrée will be September 1st, 2022.
We’ve listed below the 2022-2023 French school holiday dates for each of the regional education authorities (académies). For Corsica and overseas departments, the dates are different again – see the calendrier on the Ministry of Education website.
Note: This calendar is based on the official version found here, but it is always a good idea to double-check local timetables.

Return to school: September 1st, 2022
All Saints (La Toussaint): October 22 to November 7, 2022
Christmas: December 17, 2022 to January 3, 2023
Winter: February 4, 2023 to February 20, 2023
Spring: April 8, 2023 to April 24, 2023
Summer: July 8, 2023
ZONE B: French School Holiday dates
Return to school: September 1st, 2022
All Saints (La Toussaint): October 22 to November 7, 2022
Christmas: December 17, 2022 to January 3, 2023
Winter: February 11, 2023 to February 27, 2023
Spring: April 15, 2023 to May 2, 2023
Summer: July 8, 2023
ZONE C: French School Holiday dates
Return to school: September 1st, 2022
All Saints (La Toussaint): October 22 to November 7, 2022
Christmas: December 17, 2022 to January 3, 2023
Winter: February 18, 2023 to March 6, 2023
Spring: April 22, 2023 to May 9, 2023
Summer: July 8, 2023
Different dates may apply to Corsica and overseas departments.
NB: Holidays start after classes on the date indicated and begin again in the morning on the other date indicated. When holidays begin on a Saturday, for those pupils who have no class that day, the holiday period begins on the previous Friday, after classes end.
