Annie Guellec-Digby is the principal of the firm and she has over twenty years’ experience in dealing with French legal matters. She is a French national and as such can obtain information that a British national may not always be able to do – the cultural differences between the two countries are greater than one may originally think. This is particularly relevant when dealing with not only Notaires but also their clerks or staff at the local Mairie. Being able to create a rapport with all French parties involved in a transaction can be invaluable.
We charge for our advice on a fixed fee basis when dealing with purchases or sales. If the matter relates to the devolution of a French estate, we charge on an hourly rate and agree a fee from the outset. This may have to be reviewed if the matter becomes more complicated than originally anticipated or more time is required to bring the matter to a conclusion.
