Luxury Villa in Poitou-Charentes

Enjoy the best of Poitou-Charentes

Just a few minutes’ drive from the sea is Le Grand, a luxury villa sitting in large, private grounds. Le Grand is a former dairy dating back to the 18th century, recently refurbished and redecorated to high standards, making it an elegant holiday home with plenty of space for small or large parties.

Le Grand can sleep up to eight people in four bedrooms – three with double beds, one with two single beds – and also has two luxurious bathrooms. One is en-suite, and both are equipped with large baths and separate showers.

The well equipped kitchen/utility room has everything you might need: cooker, dishwasher, fridge, oven, washing machine, and the large living area can seat everybody comfortably, whether it’s on the comfy sofas and armchairs in the living room area, or at the beautiful antique oak table for dining. Large TV and free Wi-Fi included.

French doors lead to the terrace, gardens and beautiful grounds perfect for relaxing in the sun. The covered terrace and built-in barbecue are perfect for an outside meal, and the large solar heated swimming pool is a great way for children and adults alike to have fun.

Time to relax

Le Grand is a secluded property that is simply perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Relaxation is the key word here, and you couldn’t possibly hope for a better place to get-away from it all.

The owners ensure that you don’t have to worry about a thing – they provide towels and bed linen, arrange for cleaning and laundry, and the resident estate managers are on hand to help you with local information and navigating your way around the area, especially if you need a hand with your French. There’s even a daily fresh bread delivery in high season and a local catering service, too.

There is much to see and much to do in Poitou-Charentes, and the beautiful city of La Rochelle is only an hour’s drive away from Le Grand, with its fabulous shops, markets and restaurants serving seafood and shellfish straight from the sea.

Activities for all the family

The area around Le Grand has plenty of activities for visitors of all ages, including cycling, hiking and horse-riding tracks, as well as the famed ‘Medoc Wine Route’ – all are perfect for taking in some of the best sights that Poitou-Charentes has to offer.

You can also try out exciting water sports at the nearby seaside resorts, a little visit to the famous La Palmyre Zoo, and perhaps even a day trip to Royan, a beautiful city full of cafes, bars, casinos, museums and activities throughout the year.

There is something for everyone when staying at Le Grand. Whatever takes your fancy, chances are it’s available for you nearby!

Prices from £1450 to £2650 per week.
