Around 300,000 candidates embark on an adventure each year to study in France. It’s a chance to see the world, meet new friends, expand your horizons and create memories that will stay with you for a lifetime. France ranks third in the world as the most attractive country to foreign university students.
It would be a pity though, once the French sojourn comes to an end, to gradually lose touch with the people and the culture. What if you could keep in touch not only with your classmates but also in a wider sense, become part of a network with everybody who has ever studied in France, from anywhere around the world, and of any age group?
Now you can. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more commonly referred to as the Quai d’Orsay, launched a new social network called “France Alumni” to help former foreign students in France keep in touch with each other. This network has been active since 2014, providing people with a platform to rekindle old friendships.
The France Alumni platform is run by Campus France, a service of the French Embassies, aimed at “helping international alumni to keep their connection with France alive long after they have completed their studies”. Campus France provides basic information in 30 languages to help prospective students explore their interest in the possibility of studying in France, and their ambitious program of international events (fairs, forums, thematic visits, university tours) reaches an average of 160,000 visitors each year. The agency also can help students identify suitable programs and comply with administrative requirements prior to their arrival in France.
The France Alumni network also offers companies and universities a chance to promote their international activities, and network with potential corporate or academic partnerships with former students.
If you ever studied in France, you can sign up now on the website and stay connected with French life and culture, as well as with fellow international students all over the world.
